Filter Pathways Dialog Box

Set up criteria for filtering the reaction pathways. Once set, the filtering is applied until you deselect all the criteria.

To open this dialog box, click the Filter Options button in the Review Pathways step of the Reaction-Based Enumeration Panel.

Using the Filter Pathways Dialog Box

To set up and apply the filter:

  1. Choose whether to match all rules (AND logic), or any of the rules (OR logic).
  2. Check the boxes for the properties that you want to filter on.
  3. For each property, choose whether the text you enter is in the property (contains) or is not in the property (does not contain).
  4. Enter text to match for each property.

The filter is applied when you click OK, and remains in force until you remove the filter.

To remove the filter:

  • Clear all the check boxes for the filter rules.

Filter Pathways Dialog Box Features

Match X of the following rules option menu

Choose which of the rules to match, from all (AND) or any (OR). The rules are listed below.

Rule features

Each rule consists of a check box, a property name, a menu to choose the relation between the property and the text, and a text box, to enter the text to match in the property. The choices for the relation are contains and does not contain, so that the rule is satisfied if the property does or does not have the text. The properties are ones that are stored with the reaction; for custom reactions they can be specified in the Save Reaction Dialog Box when you save the reaction to a library.

Reaction Name rule

Match on the reaction name, which is the name listed next to the path number under Select a reaction pathway in the Review Pathways tab, and under Reaction in the Choose Reaction tab when you select Reaction library as the source of the reaction.

Reactants rule

Match on the reactant types. These are listed under Reactants in the Choose Reaction tab when you select Reaction library as the source of the reaction.

Description rule

Match on the description of the reaction, which is shown in a tooltip when the pointer is over the reaction, under Pathway in the Review Pathways tab. The description is also shown underneath the reaction figure when you select a reaction from the reaction library in the Choose Reaction tab.

Reaction Tags rule

Match on keywords associated with the reaction. Keywords can contain synonyms or related terms for the reaction that do not easily fit in the description, for example.
