Build and Apply QSAR/QSPR Model — Define Bins Dialog Box
In this dialog box, you can set the number of bins used for the Bayes classification and recursive partitioning models and their widths. To open this dialog box, select either Recursive Partitioning or Bayes Classification in the Method option menu in the Build Task, select Bins for Value groupings, and click the Define link next to the Bins text box.

Set the number of bins to use for the Y variable.

Select this option to make the bins of equal width.
- Equal populations option

Select this option to make the bins of approximately equal population.

Define custom bins in the Display area below.

This area displays information on the bins. The data points are plotted horizontally. The bin boundaries are represented by vertical lines, with a dot on the top. The value of the Y variable at the bin boundary is displayed above the boundary line. Labels for each bin, or class, are displayed above the data points and populations of each bin are displayed below the data points.

Reset the bin options to their default values.
- OK and Cancel buttons

Click OK to apply the binning settings and return to the Build and Apply QSAR Model Panel. Click Cancel to return to the panel without modifying the bin options.
