Mac Quickstart Guide

This topic describes how to install Schrödinger’s Release 2026-3 software for use on a single Mac machine.

There are four steps to get started using Schrödinger software:

 

  • Download the software on the machine you will be using the software.

    • You will need a free Schrödinger account. You can set up an account here with an institutional email. This grants access to software downloads, documentation, training, webinars, and more.

    • You will need a license. If you do not have a license, you can request a trial license here.

  • Install the software: See below.

  • Configure Licensing: See Schrödinger License Manager Instructions .

  • Configure Job Settings: See Running Schrödinger Jobs .

 

 

Installing the software

1. Click the disk image (.dmg) in your Downloads folder.
2. Double-click the installer package (.pkg).
3. Follow the prompts in the installer.
4. When prompted, enter the required password to install the software.

The software is installed in /opt/schrodinger/suites2026-3, and a folder named SchrodingerSuites2026-3 is added to the Applications folder.

 

 

Checking the installation

1. Double-click the Maestro icon in the SchrodingerSuites2026-3 folder of your Applications folder to start Maestro, to check that Maestro is properly installed and licensed.
