Installing Job Server

The jobserverd process is the central component of the Job Server infrastructure. This section describes how to set up the jobserverd process on the Server Host for an HPC use case. Most steps require administrative privileges.

What type of resource are you configuring Job Server for?

Single-node machine ⓘSupports a single user running jobs on a local computer (virtual or physical). All three components of Job Server — Submission Host, Server Host, and Execution Host — run on the same computer.
High performance cluster ⓘSupports multiple users submitting jobs to an HPC, equipped with a batch queuing system. Submission Host, Server Host, and Execution Host usually run on three different computers in this use case.
