Getting Started with Job Server

The Job Server infrastructure enables you, a user of the Schrödinger Suite, to submit scientific computations (jobs) to local and remote resources and manages the running of those jobs.

The are various benefits to using the Job Server infrastructure:

• You can submit jobs from your laptop and close or shut down the laptop without affecting running jobs

• The Job Server is secure and all file transfers are encrypted and all interactions are authenticated. You need to register with a Job Server before you are able to submit jobs.

• The job database is robust. Job failures due to a corrupted job database are less likely to occur.
