Query license server status and license usage

Querying license servers

All configured license servers

See a report on the feature entitlements and usage on all configured license servers.

Open a Schrödinger Command Prompt or Schrödinger Power Shell and run:

lictool entitlement-status

To query a specific server, add:

‘--licsrv-hostport <server_hostname>:<server_port>’

Filtering usage by user/machine/job

The ‘lictool entitlement-status’ output can be filtered to show the usage by a specific user (‘--user’ argument), machine (‘--hostname’ argument), or Schrodinger Job ID (‘--jobid’ argument). If there is matching usage, the command will show the individual checkouts by that user/machine/job in addition to the feature summary lines, which will have an additional field indicating the number of “tokens in use by requested selection”.

If the argument ‘--regex-host’ is used in combination with ‘--hostname’, the latter’s value is treated as a regular expression, and usage for any machine name matching that regular expression is reported.

Generating machine-readable output

By default, the ‘lictool entitlement-status’ output is human-readable. To generate machine-readable JSON output, add the ‘--json’ argument to the command.
