Atom Specification Language

This chapter documents the syntax of Maestro's Atom Specification Language (ASL).

ASL provides a flexible way to define sets of atoms in complex macromolecular systems. It serves as the basis of the Sets facility in Maestro, and is used in many panels as an alternative to picking atoms in the Workspace. It is also used by programs and scripts for specifying sets of atoms.
