Animating the View

Maestro provides several ways of animating the view of the Workspace structure.

  • You can animate automatic changes in the view, such as spot centering, resetting the view, and fitting to the Workspace. The animation can be turned on and the duration and manner of animation set with preferences in the Preferences Panel—see View animation settings

  • You can animate a rocking or spinning motion of the structure in the Workspace, performed around the vertical (y) axis, by choosing Workspace → Animate. You may want to adjust or align the view to place the structure at a particular position and orientation in the Workspace for the animation, as described in the previous topics in this section. The view changes can be made while the animation is running.

By default, the structure rocks back and forth. To change the angle through which the structure moves, the speed of the animation, or to switch to spinning all the way around, choose Workspace → Animation Settings, and make the settings in the Animation Settings dialog box. You can start and stop the animation from this dialog box, which is useful for experimenting with the settings. To export a GIF file of the animation, click Save Animation. A file selector opens, and the width of the exported image can be set in the Scale output - width text box.
