GPCR Generic Numbering Panel
Assign generic residue numbers to a GPCR structure using either the rhodopsin or the beta-2 adrenergic receptor structure as a template.
To open this panel: click the Tasks button and browse to Protein Preparation and Refinement → Assign GPCR Generic Numbering.

Using the GPCR Generic Numbering Panel
The numbering scheme is based on the system described by Ballesteros and Weinstein (Ballesteros, J.A.; Weinstein, H., "Integrated Methods for the Construction of Three-Dimensional Models and Computational Probing of Structure-Function Relations in G-Protein Coupled Receptors," Methods Neurosci. 1995, 25, 366-428).
There must be only one entry in the Workspace, the GPCR structure. This entry may have multiple molecules (e.g. ligands). Alignment to the template and mapping is run and the GPCR structure is updated with the GPCR generic numbering as a Maestro property, GPCR generic numbering.
GPCR Generic Numbering Panel Features
- Template options
-
Select the option for the desired template to be used for the numbering, either Rhodopsin or B2-adrenergic receptor.
- Write CSV file option
-
Write a CSV file containing the old and new residue numbers, with a header. The first column has the current residue numbers, the second the generic numbers.
- Reset button
-
Reset the options to their default state.
- Run button
-
Perform the alignment to the template and generate the numbering scheme.
