- Resolution options
- Quality options
- Duration options and controls
- Smooth movies by adding N interpolated frames between entries option and text box
- Resolution options
-
Specify the movie resolution. Three options correspond to different screen sizes, in pixels. The Workspace option records the movie at the current size and resolution of the Workspace. The Custom option allows you to specify the resolution, in pixels; by default it is set to the same as Workspace.
- Quality options
-
Select the level of quality of the movie, from Low, Medium, or High. These options affect the quality of the final image. MPEG uses a compression method in which a certain amount of information is lost in the process; hence lower quality is more highly compressed and loses more information.
- Duration options and controls
-
These options allow you to specify the length of the movie.
- Frame duration slider and text box
-
Specify the duration of each frame in seconds. The length of the movie is then the number of frames times the duration of each frame. The estimated length of the movie is given below the slider. The minimum and maximum values are 0.04 sec and 5.0 sec.
- Record movie for text box
-
Specify the total length of time for which the movie should run. The duration of each frame is then this time divided by the number of frames.
- Smooth movies by adding N interpolated frames between entries option and text box
-
Create a smoother movie by interpolating between the structures in successive frames. The structures have the same atoms and connection. The interpolation takes into account the chemistry of the structure to some extent: for example, identifying torsional changes and making appropriate interpolations for these rotations. The number of extra frames added between each project entry is specified in the text box. The interpolated frames are given the current frame duration, so the movie length is extended by an amount proportional to the number of added frames.
This option is not available when a movie is created from a trajectory, as the interpolation is not capable of accounting for the wrapping of the structure due to the periodic boundary conditions and the possible superposition of trajectory frames.
